JUST IN: Edo Assembly: Okpebholo’s Aide Hails Yekini Idaiye, Says New Speaker Faces Historic Responsibility

The Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Student Affairs and Mobilization, Hon. Victor Ureshemi Akande, has congratulated Rt. Hon. Yekini Idaiye on his emergence as the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly.
Akande, in a congratulatory message, described Idaiye’s emergence as a significant moment in the legislative history of Edo State, noting that the new position comes with a great responsibility to provide purposeful leadership to the House.
He expressed confidence that the new Speaker’s wealth of experience, leadership capacity and commitment to public service would contribute significantly to the stability and effectiveness of the Edo State House of Assembly.
According to him, Idaiye’s leadership should usher in renewed purpose and progressive legislation capable of addressing the needs and aspirations of the people of Edo State.
“This is a great responsibility and a significant moment in the legislative history of our dear state,” Akande said.
He added that he was confident that Idaiye’s experience and leadership qualities would bring “renewed purpose, stability and progressive legislation” to the Assembly.
The Special Adviser also urged the new Speaker to deploy his office in the service of the people, while wishing him wisdom, courage and divine guidance in the discharge of his responsibilities.
“As you assume this distinguished office, I wish you wisdom, courage and God’s guidance as you lead the House in the service of Edo people,” he stated.
Akande further prayed for an impactful and successful tenure for the new Speaker, expressing optimism that his leadership would strengthen the legislative arm of government and contribute to the overall development of Edo State.
He described Idaiye’s emergence as an opportunity to deepen responsible and people-oriented legislation in the state and wished him success as he takes charge of the affairs of the House.
