JUST IN: 2027: Abba, Atiku Abubakar’s Son Unveils Two Million-Man March, 10 Luxury Buses for Tinubu’s Re-election
…Says Group to Mobilise Across Six Geopolitical Zones, Targets FCT, Rivers
By OGB Joseph, Abuja
The Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation (HBTO), founded and chaired by Hon. Abba, Atiku Abubakar’s son, has unveiled an ambitious nationwide mobilisation strategy in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, announcing plans for a two-million-man march across the six geopolitical zones and the provision of 10 luxury buses as part of its political support initiative.
Abba Atiku Abubakar disclosed this at a press conference held in APC Media centre, where he explained the organisation’s decision to mobilise support for the Tinubu administration, describing it as a deliberate political choice based on his conviction about the President’s reform agenda and leadership.
He said the organisation was established to bring together Nigerians who share a common belief in the leadership and reform agenda of President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration.
According to him, HBTO intends to build a structured, inclusive and nationally coordinated movement capable of mobilising support, engaging communities, communicating government policies and contributing meaningfully to the political process.
Abubakar acknowledged that political decisions, particularly those involving individuals with personal or family relationships, could attract public attention, but insisted that his decision to establish and lead the organisation was made in his personal capacity.
He maintained that political conviction remained a matter of individual judgement and conscience, stressing that Nigerians should be free to make independent political choices without being subjected to criticism over differing opinions.
“My decision to establish and lead the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation is a deliberate political choice, one I have made in my personal capacity and with a firm belief in the direction we have chosen to pursue,” he said.
Explaining the rationale behind the organisation’s support for Tinubu, Abubakar said the group had assessed the administration’s policies and interventions since assuming office and believed that, despite the difficult adjustments experienced by Nigerians, the reforms offered opportunities and long-term benefits.
He cited the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which he said had expanded access to interest-free educational loans for students and reduced the financial burden on families.
He also highlighted the government’s support for eligible graduates through access to start-up financing, describing the initiative as an important step towards encouraging entrepreneurship and economic independence.
The HBTO chairman further pointed to ongoing investments in road infrastructure and critical transportation networks, saying they were improving connectivity, facilitating the movement of goods and services and strengthening economic activities across the country.
He also noted increased revenue allocations to state governments through the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), arguing that the additional resources had strengthened the capacity of states to meet their financial obligations, including salaries, pensions and other commitments.
Abubakar added that public sector workers had benefited from improved fiscal capacity at different levels of government, alongside interventions aimed at cushioning the effects of prevailing economic realities, including the recent N70,000 transportation support.
As part of its commitment to translating political support into practical interventions, the organisation announced plans to provide 10 luxury buses to ease transportation challenges faced by Nigerians.
Abubakar said the initiative was designed to demonstrate that political support should go beyond public declarations and political gatherings to include tangible contributions that directly affect citizens.
He disclosed that the programme would commence in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, before being progressively extended to other parts of the country.
“We intend to commence this programme in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, before progressively expanding the initiative to other parts of the federation,” he stated.
The organisation also pledged to take its message beyond political meetings by engaging ordinary Nigerians and ensuring that the benefits and objectives of government policies were properly communicated at the grassroots.
Unveiling its national mobilisation strategy, the HBTO chairman said the organisation was preparing for an ambitious political mobilisation programme involving a two-million-man march across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
He said the exercise would begin in Abuja, with immediate efforts focusing on supporting the FCT Minister, whom he described as a key political leader in the organisation’s mobilisation structure.
According to him, the organisation is working towards securing victory for President Tinubu in the Federal Capital Territory in the 2027 general election.
He also disclosed that HBTO was aligning its activities with the political objective of delivering both the FCT and Rivers State for the President in the forthcoming election.
Abubakar further announced that the organisation was preparing for a major political mobilisation exercise in Rivers State the following week, expressing confidence that its structures were being activated and members and supporters were ready to demonstrate the movement’s strength.
He, however, stressed that the proposed two-million-man march was not merely about numbers or political appearances but about building a disciplined, coordinated and effective grassroots mobilisation network capable of translating political support into electoral results.
The organisation, he said, would establish a presence across the six geopolitical zones, strengthen state and zonal structures, engage community stakeholders and collaborate with other progressive political forces towards Tinubu’s re-election.
In his concluding remarks, Abubakar called for cooperation among political stakeholders, community leaders, youth organisations, women groups and other Nigerians who share the organisation’s aspirations.
He said no political organisation could succeed in isolation, adding that HBTO was committed to working with groups and individuals interested in building a stronger and more prosperous country.
The HBTO founder reiterated that the organisation was founded on conviction, commitment and the belief that political participation must be accompanied by concrete action.
He expressed confidence that the movement would contribute its quota to the success of the Tinubu administration’s reform agenda and the President’s re-election bid in 2027.
