JUST IN: Akande Reaffirms Okpebholo’s Commitment to Edo Students, Meets Ex-NAESS Leaders

The Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Student Affairs and Mobilisation, Hon. Victor Ureshemi Akande, has reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration to advancing the welfare and educational development of students across the state.
Akande gave the assurance during a stakeholders’ engagement held in his office with former National Presidents and other leaders of the National Association of Edo State Students (NAESS), where discussions centred on strengthening the association and promoting the interests of Edo students.
He said the administration of Governor Okpebholo remained committed to implementing policies and programmes that would enhance educational advancement, youth empowerment and inclusiveness, stressing that students remain a key priority of the state government.
According to him, the meeting provided an opportunity for participants to reflect on the association’s history, exchange ideas and develop strategies aimed at repositioning NAESS to better serve Edo students.
Akande also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the Federal Government’s Student Loan Scheme, describing it as a transformative initiative that has reduced the financial burden on parents while expanding access to higher education for indigent students across the country.
He expressed appreciation to the former NAESS national presidents and other stakeholders for honouring the invitation and making meaningful contributions during the engagement.
The Special Adviser noted that the experience and commitment of the association’s past leaders would play a vital role in shaping a stronger and more vibrant student body.
He reaffirmed his resolve to continue working with stakeholders to champion the welfare, development and aspirations of Edo State students, while fostering partnerships that would secure a brighter future for the state’s student population.
