JUST IN: Okpebholo Administration Reaffirms Commitment to Edo Students as Akande Meets NAESS Leadership

BENIN CITY – The Edo State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to improving student welfare, expanding educational opportunities and fostering stronger engagement with students across the state, following a strategic meeting between the Special Adviser to the Governor on Student Affairs and Mobilization, Hon. Victor Ureshemi Akande, and the National Executive Council of the National Association of Edo State Students (NAESS).
During the meeting held in his office on Thursday, Akande described the engagement as productive, noting that discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between the state government and the leadership of NAESS to advance the interests of Edo students.
He said the deliberations centred on initiatives aimed at improving student welfare, enhancing access to quality educational opportunities and encouraging greater student participation in the development of the state.
Akande reiterated that the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo remains committed to prioritising education and implementing policies that will create an enabling environment for students to excel academically and contribute meaningfully to society.
According to him, investing in students remains a critical component of the government’s broader vision for sustainable development and human capital growth in Edo State.
The Special Adviser also commended the NAESS National Executive Council for its dedication to promoting the interests of Edo students, describing the association’s leadership as constructive partners in the collective effort to strengthen the education sector.
He expressed optimism that sustained collaboration between the government and student leaders would yield positive outcomes, stressing that building strong partnerships is essential to empowering students and preparing them for future leadership roles.
The meeting forms part of the Edo State Government’s ongoing engagement with critical stakeholders in the education sector as it seeks to deepen student inclusion, improve learning outcomes and promote academic excellence across the state.
