The leadership of the Jagaban Support Group (JSG), in partnership with The Progressive Institute (TPI), has secured the endorsement of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for its proposed training and empowerment programme targeting two million youths and women ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The initiative, tagged “2 Million Youths & Women Virtual Training & Empowerment Programme,” is being positioned as a grassroots mobilisation vehicle in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The endorsement followed a courtesy visit by the leadership of JSG and TPI to the National Chairman of the APC, where the groups presented their proposal and outlined its objectives.

In a statement issued by the National Coordinator of JSG2027, Otunba Arc. Abimbola Olasanmiju, the group described the development as a major milestone in its efforts to deepen grassroots engagement, particularly among young people and women.

According to him, the programme is designed to combine skills development, empowerment and political mobilisation, with a focus on reaching Nigerians at the ward and local government levels.

Olasanmiju said the endorsement had positioned JSG/TPI to play a strategic role in grassroots mobilisation as the APC begins preparations for the 2027 elections.

He urged members and supporters of the organisation to return to their respective wards and local government areas to commence implementation of the mandate.

“This milestone positions JSG/TPI at the forefront of grassroots engagement, skills development, and political mobilisation ahead of 2027,” he said.

He added: “The journey has just begun. Let us return to our wards and LGAs to deliver on this mandate.”

The initiative is expected to leverage virtual training platforms to expand access to skills acquisition and empowerment opportunities for its target beneficiaries, while simultaneously strengthening grassroots structures and support for the APC and the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The JSG leadership said the programme would focus particularly on youths and women, two demographic groups considered critical to the success of any grassroots political mobilisation strategy.

The organisation further called on its members across the country to prepare for the next phase of the programme, stressing the need for coordinated action at ward and local government levels.

With the 2027 elections drawing closer, political parties and support groups have intensified efforts to strengthen their grassroots structures, mobilise new supporters and deepen engagement with young Nigerians and women.

The JSG/TPI initiative is therefore expected to become an important component of the groups’ mobilisation strategy as they seek to build wider support for the Tinubu administration and the APC ahead of the 2027 polls.
