JUST IN :2027: STYMM Launched in Abuja, Targets Grassroots Push for Tinubu’s Re-election

A youth-driven political mobilisation group, the Seyi Tinubu Youth Mandate Movement (STYMM), has been formally inaugurated in Abuja with a bold target of galvanising grassroots support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

The unveiling, held at the Abuja Continental Hotel, drew coordinators from across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in what organisers described as the beginning of a nationwide mobilisation effort aimed at reaching all 774 local government areas.

Addressing the gathering, the National Coordinator of STYMM, Honourable Demian Lawani, tasked members to actively engage communities at the grassroots by articulating the policies and achievements of the Tinubu administration.

He emphasised that the group’s strategy goes beyond urban advocacy, focusing instead on direct engagement at ward and unit levels.

Lawani acknowledged that the administration has implemented difficult reforms but maintained that such measures were necessary to reposition the country for long-term growth.

He cited ongoing infrastructure development, student support initiatives, and agricultural interventions as early indicators of the policy direction.

According to him, STYMM has set an ambitious target of delivering 7.2 million votes for the President through its youth and women wings. The projection, he explained, translates to 200,000 votes from each state, with both wings expected to contribute equally.

He further highlighted what he described as increased youth inclusion in governance under the current administration, noting that young Nigerians have been entrusted with leadership roles. He also hinted at broader inclusion of women in government as part of ongoing efforts to deepen participation.

He underscored the leadership role of Seyi Tinubu in the movement, describing him as actively involved and physically present in its activities across the country. He said the group is committed to sustained engagement, particularly in rural communities often overlooked in political campaigns.

“As we approach 2027, we are calling on Nigerians to support the President as he continues efforts to rebuild the country. The outcomes of the current reforms will soon become evident”.

The inauguration signals the early start of political alignments ahead of the next election cycle, with youth-based organisations increasingly positioning themselves as key drivers of grassroots mobilisation.
