Parishioners of Word of Grace International Gospel Centre, Kuje, Abuja, have paid glowing tribute to their General Overseer, Pastor Benjamin Ogunsakin, for his unwavering commitment to God’s work and humanitarian service during the church’s 2026 Father’s Day celebration.
The event, held at the church auditorium in Kuje, brought together members and well-wishers in a thanksgiving service to celebrate fathers while honouring Pastor Ogunsakin’s exemplary leadership and dedication to the welfare of the congregation.
Delivering his Father’s Day sermon, Pastor Ogunsakin expressed gratitude to God for His faithfulness and appreciated members of the church for their sacrifices and support towards the success of the celebration.
He charged fathers to remain committed to their responsibilities at home, stressing that true fatherhood is defined by sacrifice, care and provision for the family.
“A responsible father does not abandon his responsibilities. He must always ensure the safety and welfare of his family. I pray that God will continue to bless every father to fulfil his responsibilities in the home,” he said.
Speaking with journalists after the service, Pastor Ogunsakin said the church’s mission extends beyond spiritual nourishment to meeting the physical needs of members through humanitarian initiatives.
He revealed that volunteer health professionals within the church regularly offer free medical services to members and residents as part of the church’s outreach programmes.
Reflecting on the church’s growth, he recalled its humble beginnings with only a handful of worshippers.
“When we started this church, I was a district pastor. My father visited and saw the joy on the faces of the members despite our small number. Today, God has increased the church, and we are all grateful for His blessings,” he said.
Also speaking, the Resident Pastor, Pastor Bamidele Olojotunji, described the Father’s Day programme as spiritually enriching and impactful.
According to him, the celebration began with prayer sessions and empowerment programmes, including training on alternative sources of income aimed at improving members’ livelihoods.
“It has been a spirit-filled programme. We held several sessions, including prayers and empowerment training to equip members with skills for additional income. We thank God for making the programme a success,” he said.
