In a move aimed at deepening youth engagement in Nigeria’s democratic process and expanding opportunities for young people, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) Youth Directorate, in partnership with the APC National Youth Wing, has unveiled the maiden edition of the Renewed Hope Youth Festival 2026 (RHYF 2026) as part of activities marking Democracy Day.

The festival, scheduled for June 12, 2026, at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, is expected to attract more than 10,000 young Nigerians from across the country for a day of sports, entertainment, innovation, leadership development, networking, and skills acquisition.

With the theme, “Consolidating the Future: Youth Empowerment, Democratic Resilience, and the Renewed Hope Mandate,” organisers say the initiative is designed to celebrate Nigeria’s democratic journey while providing a platform for young people to showcase their talents, build meaningful connections, and access opportunities for personal and professional growth.

According to the organisers, the festival will feature a wide range of activities, including football, basketball, table tennis, chess competitions, gaming and virtual reality experiences, talent showcases, dance performances, live music, DJ sessions, exhibitions, networking engagements, and giveaway programmes.

A major attraction of the event will be the Growth and Development Masterclass, where leading professionals and industry experts will engage participants on critical areas such as personal branding, financial literacy, wealth creation, effective communication, emotional intelligence, health and wellness, as well as career development.

The organisers also disclosed that the festival would serve as a marketplace of opportunities for entrepreneurs, exhibitors, vendors, creatives, athletes, and young professionals to display their products, services, innovations, and talents before a broad national audience.

Speaking on the significance of the initiative, Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, Director of Youth, Renewed Hope Ambassadors, described the festival as a transformative platform that will celebrate youth excellence, encourage civic participation, promote national unity, and create pathways for young Nigerians to thrive.

He noted that the event is intended to inspire young people to become active contributors to national development while equipping them with the knowledge, networks, and opportunities required to succeed in an increasingly competitive environment.

Also speaking, the APC National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, said the festival aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s commitment to youth empowerment, inclusion, and nation-building.

According to him, young Nigerians remain central to the country’s democratic growth and sustainable development, stressing that initiatives such as the Renewed Hope Youth Festival provide a valuable platform for nurturing future leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and changemakers.

As Nigeria commemorates Democracy Day 2026, the organisers expressed confidence that the festival will not only celebrate the nation’s democratic achievements but also inspire a new generation of citizens committed to building a more prosperous and united country.
