JUST IN: Akoko-Edo Group Hails Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Over Solar Street Lights Donation

The Akoko-Edo Development Association has commended Senator Natasha Hadiza Akpoti-Uduaghan for her intervention in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State through the donation of solar-powered street lights to communities in the area.
The association conveyed its appreciation during a meeting with the senator in Maryland, United States, where she was engaging members of the Ebira community in the diaspora.
Leading the delegation, the Vice Chairman of the Akoko-Edo Development Association, Dr. Richard Bagudu, formally presented a letter of appreciation to Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan in recognition of what the association described as a practical intervention aimed at improving the welfare and security of residents.
Bagudu, who presented the letter on behalf of the association, said the provision of solar-powered street lights would contribute significantly to improving visibility at night, enhancing security and supporting socio-economic activities in the beneficiary communities.
The association noted that rural communities often face challenges associated with inadequate public infrastructure and poor lighting, stressing that interventions such as solar-powered street lights could make a tangible difference in the daily lives of residents.
It commended the senator for responding to some of the infrastructural and security concerns confronting communities in Akoko-Edo, describing the gesture as an example of how public-spirited initiatives could complement government efforts in community development.
The delegation also acknowledged the presence and support of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s husband, Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan, the Alema of Warri Kingdom, during the engagement.
The meeting, according to the association, also provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships with prominent stakeholders and draw greater attention to the development needs and aspirations of communities across Akoko-Edo.
The association reaffirmed its commitment to recognising individuals, organisations and public officials whose interventions positively affect the lives of the people.
It further called for sustained partnerships between public officials, community organisations, diaspora groups and other stakeholders to promote infrastructure, security and sustainable development across Akoko-Edo Local Government Area.
