Edo 2024: I will change the face of Edo for development against Gov. Obasek hardship on Edo people i–‘ David Imuse

Aspirant for the Edo State Governorship election, Col. David Imuse has declared that he is in the race for the poll to change the narrative saying he will  bring more development to Edo State after it was destroyed by Gov. Godwin Obaseki for eight years.

Imuse made this declaration after he paid million naira for Expression of Interest and Nomination forms at the party national headquarters in Abuja noting that he has revived the party despite the bullets he took from Gov. Godwin Obaseki to stop him from taking the party to a greater heights.

He emphasized the fact that the experience he has garner over the years as a military officer and a medical doctor has prepared him sufficiently to make Edo great stressing that those who are currently seeking the ticket of the party were all in their comfort zone when he chested out.

He said: ” APC is known treward hardwork. Over the last five years  Col David Imuse, has been the face of APC in Edo State. At a time Obaseki wanted to destroy this party, and while everybody that wants to be Governor today were in the comfort of their homes in Abuja, Lagos, London and America. I chested out, held the bull by the horn face Obaseki’s bullets and his forces of cohersion. I retrieved this party from the valley of death. Stabilise it and made it attractive and provided leadership when it was needed most.

” Today, I want to take those leadership qualities to Edo and reposition the state. Primaries are purely party affairs. We have contributed our quarter to the growth of this party. The next stage is governance of Edo. For those of you from Edo State, you know that in the last eight years, inspite of our great human resources, the government of the state headed by Obaseki has not been able to fulfil the legitimate expectations of our people. Edo have been left to drift. Edo is bleeding. Edo is in a coma. It is in a state of severe hemorrhage.

” The state needed to be rescued. We need to reset Edo State. Today, my purchase of this forms is a clear demonstration to my commitment in resetting Edo State. It is my commitment to rescue my people from the deadly fangs of political predators and vampires that presently occupied the state government House in Osadebe Avenue. We have come so that there will be a paradigm shift from politics of greed, deceit, self immolation, self aggradizement to a more pragmatic, purposeful and result oriented governance that we can bequeath as a legacy to our children.

” We have come to serve not to play. Today, is it hospital, the health services are grounded. Education is in a comatose state. Is it roads and infrastructure? Is it rural development? The legacy of the past have been destroyed and David Imuse have come to change the narrative. When God gives you power, he does it for two reasons. He gives you responsibility and then priviledges.”, he noted.

The rtd Army officer turned politician accused the current Governor Godwin Obaseki for dashing the hope of Edo people through his unpopular policies stressing that those the people gave their mandate have abuse it hence the need to return Edo to its past glory.

” If you carry out your responsibilities very well, he will give you all your priviledges unencumbered. But what we find today is incompetence. Our people are more interested in priviledges to their offices to the detriment of their responsibilities. That narrative Has to change. We would block the loopholes and seal up the leakages and restore Edo to its past glory.

” I have come to restore that hope and that is why I am on this race and Edo will be better for it. For all of you here, in Edo State, there are three men that have made mark in the governance of Edo State. The first is Gen. Osaigbovo Ogbemudia, he was an army officer. The second person is Prof. Ambrose Alli, a medical doctor. And the third person is Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, an astute politician.

” Standing before you today is a man who is an army officer, a medical doctor and a politician of note. I will combine the bravery and courage of the soldier with the intelligence of a medical doctor and the sagacity of a politician to take Edo State out of the woods and restore it to its past glory”, he stated.
