JUST IN: Benin Kingdom: Edokpolo Hails Oba Ewuare II at 10th Coronation Anniversary

The Managing Director of Heritage Homes & Logistics Limited, Amb. Aiyamenkhue Edokpolo, has felicitated with the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku’Akpolokpolo Oba Ewuare II, CFR, on the monarch’s 10th coronation anniversary.

 

 

Edokpolo, in a congratulatory message issued to mark the 10th Coronation Anniversary Thanksgiving Celebration, described the occasion as a significant milestone in the history of the Benin Kingdom and an opportunity for the people of Edo State to celebrate their cultural heritage and traditional institution.

 

 

 

He said celebrating the Oba was not merely an expression of loyalty to the monarch but a customary duty, given the central role of the Benin throne in preserving the identity, heritage and collective consciousness of the Benin people.

 

 

 

According to him, Oba Ewuare II represents the enduring traditional institution of the Benin Kingdom, noting that the monarch’s decade-long reign has helped to inspire renewed appreciation for the customs, values, dignity and traditions of the people.

 

 

 

“Celebrating our dear Oba is indeed a customary duty, for His Majesty represents not only our revered traditional institution but also the enduring identity, heritage, and cultural consciousness of the Benin Kingdom,” he said.

 

 

 

Edokpolo noted that over the past decade, the monarch’s reign had continued to promote the preservation and projection of the cultural heritage of the Benin people, alongside efforts towards unity and peaceful coexistence.

 

 

 

He said the development was worthy of recognition as the Oba marked what he described as a remarkable milestone in the history of the Benin throne.

 

 

 

The Heritage Homes boss also commended the monarch for his leadership and service to the Benin Kingdom, Edo State and Nigeria, praying for continued wisdom, strength and divine guidance for the traditional ruler.

 

 

 

He said: “I pray that Almighty God will continue to grant Your Majesty wisdom, strength, divine guidance, and many more years of fruitful service to the Benin Kingdom, Edo State, and Nigeria.”

 

 

 

Edokpolo further prayed that the Oba’s reign would continue to be characterised by peace, dignity, cultural renewal and greater glory for the people.

 

 

 

He congratulated Oba Ewuare II on the 10th coronation anniversary, describing the occasion as an auspicious celebration of the monarch’s decade on the throne.

 

 

 

The message was signed with the traditional Benin salutation, “Oba Gha T’Okpere, Isee,” and conveyed on behalf of Edokpolo’s family, associates and the entire Heritage Homes & Logistics Limited.

 

 

 

The 10th anniversary celebration also provides an opportunity for reflection on the place of the Benin monarchy in preserving the kingdom’s centuries-old cultural heritage while promoting unity and peaceful coexistence among the people.

 

 

 

Since his ascension to the throne, Oba Ewuare II has remained a prominent voice on issues concerning the preservation of Benin culture, the protection of the kingdom’s heritage and the promotion of peace and development in Edo State.
