Talakawa’s Parliament Commends BNC President, Aiyamenkhue, Uwagboe For Standing On The Path of Truth
By GodfreyHenry, Abuja
In a determined resolve to appreciate efforts by its outstanding pillars, the Talakawa’s Parliament wishes to use this medium to commend the President and Secretary of Benin National Congress (BNC) Comrade Aiyamenkhue Edokpolo and Comrade Maxwell Uwagboe for having the tenacity and courage to speak against the obvious marginalisation of Edo South Senatorial District owing to the negative action of the Minister of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) who allegedly influenced the allocation of five major projects under the Niger Delta Ministry in the 2024 budget exclusively to Edo North where he hails from to the exclusion of the Oil Producing Communities in Edo State especially Edo South Senatorial District being the area with oil and gas production basin of the Niger Delta.
The Organization in a Press release on the 1st day of February, 2024 signed by the Acting Secretary, Comrade Osas Agbonamwanre made available to Newsmen condemned in totality the marginalization of the Oil Producing Communities in Edo South with so many flowing oil wells by the Minister, Engr. Abubakar Momoh who ought to have represented the the Host Communities copiously.
The statement read: ” It is sad to note that today Orhionmwon, Ikpoba Okha and Ovia North North East Local Government Areas remained the most underdeveloped local government areas in Edo State despite the natural resources while the Niger Delta Affairs Minister is busy influencing projects to his community which is not an oil producing community.
” We want to draw the attention of the Minister that the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs was established with the primary mission of facilitating the rapid, even and sustainable development of the Niger Delta region into a region that is economically prosperous, socially stable, ecologically regenerative and politically peaceful. This can only be achieved by equitable allocation of projects and appointments in favor of oil producing Local Governments and host communities.
” The issue here is whether the Minister’s senatorial district community is an oil producing community that deserves the project? And the answer is a thunderous NO
” The organization wishes to advise a group of persons or alleged crab-smoking scavengers, and uncultured scallywags who are masquerading as President and Secretary of Benin United Forum to desist forthwith from antagonizing or mis characterizing Benins who have the pedigre, honesty, integrity and people-oriented antecedents to promote, project and defend the interests of the marginalized Host Communities of Edo South Senatorial District”, the group said.
