My case is hand of Esau, voice of Jacob in Bayelsa State— Sylva …Accuse PDP of sponsoring renegades in APC to stop him

By Iramofu OGB, Abuja

The former governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva has stated that he is particularly delighted seeing the Nigerian judiciary vindicating him for is demand for his right in the Bayelsa state All Progressives Congress, APC, primary which produce him as the party’s candidate saying what has played out is the hand of Esau and voice of Jacob.

Sylva made this remarks in a reaction to the court of appeal judgment when he paid a visit to Buhari’s House to see the National Chairman of the party noting that it was the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who was sponsoring renegades in the APC to deprive him of his right to contest the governorship election.

He maintained that despite all the issues thrown at him, he has remained in touch with the people because he is the rightful candidate for the governorship seat.

“Even the court raise the issue. If a member of APC took me to court. And said he was the rightful candidate, I will oh, yes. I will understand. But if he considers himself a member of the party, and he takes me to court and said, the party should not have a candidate at all, then you will know that there is a problem.

” Is this a member of the party? Can he be a member of the party to go to the court? He is not saying he is the person. Because he didn’t participate in the process at all. But just that the party should not have a candidate.

” You can see that there was a hand of isaw and the voice of job. That is very clear. It was not an APC issue but PDP that is sponsoring renegades members of APC. We are going to deal with that issue”, he said.

He reiterated that he is particularly happy that the Judiciary has vindicated itself because the issue of locus standi has been laid to rest.

He stated: ” I believe that the Judiciary has vindicated itself. Because personally I had suffered defeat because of this issue of locus. I took governor Dickson as he then was tp court.

“And on this issue of locus and the Supreme court decided then that since I didn’t participate in that primary, I don’t have the locus standi to take the matter to court.

” And I lost the battle. Today, when the court of appeal now said, the guy who didn’t participate at all in the process had locus standi, I was a little bit confused. But the judiciary has vindicated itself. I am quite happy. We are ready.

” We didn’t really have setbacks. We are reaching out to out people. Because Bayelsa people love us. We have been reaching put to our people constantly until last Sunday before I came here. We are going to take off from where we stop”, he added.

On how he intend to win the peoples vote during the election, Sylva noted: ” It is clear to the blind abd audible to the deaf that we are the one that is going to win. That is why you see because of this fear they are going to court to try to stop me from running.

” Because they know that since I am on the ballot it will be a problem. That is why their only expectation is to pay any amount of money to make sure that I am not on the ballot. Because we have a fear judiciary and we are very proud of it,”, he said.
