JUST IN: Edo Guber Primary: APC NWC backtrack, fixes Thursday 22nd for completion of exercise

The All Progressives Congress, APC, said after its National Working Committee, NWC, meeting has decided to fix Edo state gubernatorial election Primary for Thursday February 22nd, 2024 following confusion that nearly Mar the exercise.

Addressing newsmen at the media centre of the National secretariat of the party, Felix Morka its National Publicity Secretary stated that the reason was for the party to give the aspirants benefits of doubt so that the inconclusive state of the primary can be laid to rest.

He said: ” At its emergency meeting held today, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, to consider the report on the Edo State Governorship Primary Election, the National Working Committee (NWC) deliberated on the report and resolved that the Edo State Governorship Primary Election has not been completed, and has now fixed Thursday February 22, 2024 for the completion of the Primary Election Process”.

It will be recalled that the party’s Primary was before now scheduled for February 17th, 2024 but sad to note that at the end about three aspirants were declared at three points as candidates of the party.

The party however met and fix another day to complete the exercise.
