Edo Gubernatorial Election: I am the anointed candidate of God, everybody will follow for the good of Edo people— Dr. Umakhihe 

The Governorship Aspirant for the Edo State Governorship election, Dr. Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe has intimated members and supporters of the party saying he is the anointed candidate by God for the good of Edo people ahead the 17th February, 2024 party primaries.

Umakhihe made this remarks during his briefing of journalists shortly after submitting his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms at the national secretariat of the party in Wuse 2, Abuja.

He said with his experience as taxation expert over the years, he will deploy his career tact to drive the revenue generation for Edo State so that more revenue for developments will come to the state.

He noted: ” I will say i am the anointed candidate of God and everybody will follow God’s will and design. I came in with capacity, ability with intellectual zeal, experience and passion i tell you, I have gone round the 18 local government.

” The reception was overwhelming and those are the people that will vote.  They are on ground and they support this ambition across the three senatorial zones.

” Like i told you, i am a taxation expert and I’m a fellow of the institute of taxation of Nigeria and on taxation. We are talking about revenue generation when you drive and get the appropriate revenue to run a state.

” Taxation we are talking about revenue derivation and will follow through with my experience. It has a lot to do with revenue collection”, he stated.

On his strategy to convince the people that he can get it right, the former permanent secretary explained: ” You can be be assured of a level playing ground. The anger in the land, i am coming with solution for my own Edo state. Edo people will feel the impact of qualitative leadership under me”, he said.
