Edo 2024 Umakhihe rallies support of Etsako to secure APC’s ticket

Dr Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe, a Gubernatorial Aspirantnin Edo State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday sough the support of people of Etsako West, Central and East for him to emerge as the party candidate for the forthcoming Governorship election in the state.
Umakhihe made the call on Friday during his tour of Etsako west (Auchi), Etsako Central (Fugar) and Etsako East (Agenebode) Local Government Areas of the state.
He promised that the people of Etsako and the state in general would regret voting for him at the party primaries scheduled for Feb 17.
Umakhihe pledged that if voted for, he would develop solid minerals to boost employment for youth, provide good education, tackle security and improve healthcare system in the state.
Umakhihe said that Edo North is blessed with a lot of solid minerals, promised to attract investors who would genuinely work with him to explore and develop them for the benefit of his people.
“This land is known for a lot of solid minerals, we have to develop it. We will develop our solid minerals and all our Youths will be employed.
On Education Umakhihe promised to review the state educational system to offer the best education to students in the state.
Umakhihe said apart from his plan for the people when elected into power, he would continue in helping and empowering the less privileged and in continue interventions in schools through his Caridad Ernesto Foundation in Auchi and Imighotuo Foundation with its headquarters in Otuo, Owan East L.G.A
In the area of Health, Umakhihe also said that primary healthcare would be given priority under his watch.
He emphasized that the primary health centers in the state would be well equipped with basic amenities, and trained health workers to make them first points of call to the people when they need medical service.
“With that our people will not need to keep running anymore to the tertiary health institutions because of ailments which should be treated around them,” he said.
On security, Umakhihe said that as a PhD holder in security and strategy, he had the blueprint to solve security issues confronting the state.
“I know security is a problem, we will gather intelligence and use. Kidnapping and abduction in Afemai land will be a thing of the past if I become the governor of Edo state by your power and the grace of God,” he said.
Umakhihe described himself as the best person to take Edo Agricultural sector to its maximum level through mechanized processes, irrigation and cultivation of arable land, throughout the year.
“I know what to do to bring Edo state out of its bad state because l have served for 35 years and I was personally commended by Mr president for meritorious service after my 35 years of hard and stainless work in the federal civil service, “ he said.
