PTD appeals to members to ceasefire

The Chairman of Petrol Tankers Drivers Association of Nigeria, Lucky Osesug has appeal to members of the Union to maintain peace and tranquility saying the issues under dispute is under control hence drivers should ceasefire in the interest of peace.

Addressing journalists in Abuja over the lingering crisis facing the PTD across the states in Nigeria, Osesug noted that they are not for fight as fighting amongst themselves will not address the issues at hand.

He said: ” We are not for fight. We are not fighting anybody. All we want is Justice. We want our members to go about their normal duties. Whoever molest them they should please hold peace.

” Nobody should quarrel or fight anybody outside there. We are for peace and not for destruction. Whatever happens in the wrong way, do not know how it will end in the other way. We are now appealing to all our members not to make any trouble outside. But they should go and do their normal duties.

” Any molestation they know who and who to call. Because in this country now, we need peace not pieces. We want our comrades here to relarlte this messages to our members, tanker drivers over there: portharcoury, warri and lagos zones as well as Kaduna’, he said.

Also lending his voice on the need for members to cooperate in other for peace to reign, his Deputy Yusuf Garga urged mbees of the union to go about their duty without fear as they know where to carry their grievances to whenever they are challenged.

” Let me assure you that everything is under control. And since everything is under control, everything has now been shifted to court. We are calling on our members to go back to their normal duties.

” But the struggle to liberate PTD has just began. Whether there is press conference or not, the struggle continues. We must be peaceful in our conduct. But if we are challenged, we know where to carry our struggle to”, he explained.
